Gospel Music Workshop of America
ATLANTA, Ga. — Hometown gospel music ministry, Unity of Navasota attended the Gospel Music Workshop of America annual Convention held this week in Atlanta, Georgia.
“It was suggested by some industry friends that Unity participate on something called "The Quartet Quest" a showcase where up and coming quartet groups from around the USA come and are given 10 minutes on stage to show the world what they have to offer,” said Marquisha Culbreath. Unity sang and shortly after headed home to Texas.
“Hours later, around about the time we reached Louisiana, we received a phone call from someone asking "How can we get your prize money to you?" said Culbreath.
Confused, the group asked "What prize money?" Unity was informed that out of more than 50 groups having participated, a panel of industry judges had selected Unity of Navasota, Texas, as first place winners.
Unity won a cash prize, an opportunity to sing on world renowned legendary Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel Show, placement in national gospel magazines and an opportunity to be a featured guest on the 2019 Gospel Music Workshop of America "Quartet Legend's Concert.”
Unity of Navasota continues to hit all the right notes as the group’s cache and following continues to grow.
